Are valid for 12 months. Clients are reminded to book a date as soon as possible or to remind the recipient of the voucher to do so, to avoid disappointment. In exceptional circumstances where you are unable to book a date inside the 12 months contact must still be made in writing explaining the reasons. If no contact is made within the 12 months your voucher will be out of date and an extra charged will be levied to extend it as below. Vouchers purchased before the above date will be valid for 6 months only.

Expired Vouchers

You may extend your voucher at an additional cost of £25pp if it is within 14 days of expiration for a further 6 months. Following that the cost will be £30pp.  Dates cannot be booked until such time that this additional payment is received.

Booking Form

Clients are requested to complete the booking form prior to arranging/requesting a date. Failure to do so could result in a breakdown in communication. If you are completing a booking form it is understood that you will share the email with participants and ask them to read the terms and conditions. In all cases, it is understood that participants agreed and will abide by the terms and conditions.


Refunds will not be offered after 14 days of purchase. All cases will be considered on merit. Where re-arrangements are offered please be aware that due to pre-bookings there may be a considerable delay. In the event that one partner or family member cannot attend it is acceptable for you to bring someone else, provided we are informed in advance and their details are provided, and they are informed of the risks. Vouchers purchased from one of our agents such as Into the Blue or Experience days will be subject to their terms and conditions as well as our own. Should the vouchers expire you may apply for an extension at an additional cost of £25 for a further 6 months. Where refunds are agreed to after the 14 day period a £20 fee will be deducted for admin purposes.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Sheepdog Experience Days may be cancelled and rearranged however cancellations within 30 days of the arranged session will not qualify for a refund. Cancellations for individual bookings within 30 days of expiration will also not qualify for rescheduling unless I am able to fill the vacant slot. In such events, I will contact you at the earliest.

Risk Assessment
We endeavour to ensure that your experience with us is a safe and pleasant one; please take note of the following:

In the winter the ground can be wet and slippery so please ensure that appropriate footwear and clothing is worn.

Please, would you also ensure that you do not approach the dogs or livestock without prior consent as working dogs can sometimes act in an unpredictable manner as can sheep? By avoiding both hands, eye contact and bending over them you will ensure that the dogs maintain their healthy respect and trust in you. A wagging tail does not always signify a friendly dog.
Please refrain from allowing dogs to meet without prior permission from owners.

Where possible the dangers will be pointed out to you at the beginning of sessions. Parents are asked to discuss these points with their children prior to arriving. If you have any disability or injury please inform us in advance similarly If you have concerns.

Sheep can also behave unpredictably due to their reaction to people, dogs or the weather so please take care. Wherever possible risks will be pointed out but surprise elements are not always possible to predict.

General errors in booking and related dissatisfaction

In the event that there is a mix up in bookings I will endeavour to offer the most practical solution for all parties. If you are unhappy about any aspect it is expected that you air any grievances before the commencement of the experience day and not wait until after it is completed or several days after. In the event that we see fit to offer a refund, 10% of the sum paid will be refunded to you.


First and foremost you are not just paying for your time with me but also my experience and knowledge.


Refunds will be considered for cancellations due to injury/exceptional personal circumstances. Refunds will not be forthcoming where notice is less than 48 hours. In circumstances where a dog has been injured the onus will be on the client to keep me informed although I will make attempts to contact you. If you fail to make contact within a three month period no refund will be forthcoming. Where no circumstances are identified a refund will not be considered. If there is no response to contact from me, refunds will not be considered. Where possible alternative session times will be offered where regular contact has been maintained by the client. Where sessions have not been paid for in advance the clients will be invoiced if sufficient notice is not given for cancellation.

Refunds for block bookings

In the event that a refund is requested for a block booking, the price of sessions already taken will revert to the individual price and not the discounted price.

Eg if you have had 1 session and request a refund for the remaining three the amount of refund given will be: £113 and not £120, with the first session costing £47.

Any missed sessions will also be charged at the full individual price if subsequent refunds request is made.

Eg 1 session taken and two missed without adequate notice – total refund for the remaining one session will be £19.


Payment in full is required for both single taster sessions or block bookings within 7 days of the arranged date. Late payment of beyond 48 hours may levy an additional charge of 10%.


Sheepdog Training sessions may be cancelled and re-arranged by direct telephone only, provided I receive your instruction no less than 48 hours before the course time. Cancellations on the day of the session will incur the full cost of the session or result in a reduced subsequent session. All cases will be considered on merit. Cancellations by text or email are not acceptable, unless made well in advance.

Arranging Suitable Dates

I will endeavour to offer dates in a timely fashion but please be aware I work evenings and weekends as well as running clinics abroad so it is not always possible to respond in a timely fashion. When you confirm that a date is suitable I will confirm in writing that it is in my diary. Please do not assume until such time that it is confirmed. The same date/s may be offered to other clients also. AT such times whoever responds on a first come basis will be prioritised.


All care is taken to ensure that the welfare of the sheep and dogs is paramount however if an injury does occur to sheep that requires veterinary treatment the owner of the dog shall be liable for the costs. Please rest assured that on the whole it is very rare for injuries to occur and treatment is administered in-house. Should you have any concerns about your dog biting/gripping, please ensure they wear a muzzle.

We accept no responsibility where the above advice is breached for any accidents or injuries sustained or for any damage to property. Children must be supervised at all times by their parents. By booking with us it is understood that you agree and abide by the above risk assessment.

Personal Health and Fitness

Sheepdog training is a very physically demanding activity and as such you should ensure that you are fit enough to undertake training. If you have any health concerns or injuries please discuss these with me prior to training. It is a common occurrence for sheep to run into you or run towards you and you should prepare yourself for this. Undertaking warm-up and cool-down exercises will help prevent injury. Wearing suitable waterproof clothing and boots or wellingtons will help you stay dry and warm.

Online Training Courses

Practical Shepherding and The Perfect Partnership

It is strictly forbidden to share your user and password with anyone else. If this guideline is breached you account will be suspended without notice. It is acceptable for you to log into multiple devices.

Once you have started the course a refund will not be forthcoming.


Refunds will be considered with respect to four sessions being booked for sheep awareness courses but please be aware that the sessions you have had prior to cancellation will incur the full charge and not the discounted charge. When booking one-one sessions the first session will levy a charge of 65% of the total fee due to requiring an assessment and the session taking longer and for the detailed training packs which will be emailed to you. The second, third and fourth sessions will be discounted pro rata at 11.65% of the total. Where refunds are considered to be appropriate, you will receive:

One session 11.65%
Two sessions 23%
Three sessions 35%
