Over the past three years, we have been offering online sheepdog training over Zoom on a 1-1 and group basis. The 1-1 sessions focus more on the handler and dog, analysing video footage and looking at both good practice and errors in training, whilst working towards a plan to make positive changes in the training regime. The group sessions on the other hand have focused more on general training problems from basic obedience, starting a dog off for the first time to more advanced elements including judging and allocation of points in trials. This classroom-type training situation offers greater opportunities for discussion and problem-solving and subsequently greater success and less frustration whilst training. Why not give it a go. It’s cheap, you save on fuel and when you do attend a practical session you will be more aware, better prepared and achieve success quicker.
Review:
“It was brilliant, and your approach stood out from every other trainer I’ve encountered. I admire your way of thinking and speaking, and I can tell that your background in dog training and psychology is a significant bonus, even a unique selling point (USP). Most handlers are born and raised on a farm, and sometimes they struggle to explain why and how things happen or solve certain problems. However, you were completely different. It appears that you are always calm and polite, which is essential not only for training dogs but also for training humans 😄. I achieved significant progress with my dogs using just a simple command like ‘hey’ and blocking them with my legs. Your analogy of someone stealing your phone and running away was particularly helpful to me.” – Eileen Linke (Germany)
